Feeling like you need a little motivation or a quick tip to get you going. Each week, and between full episodes, I will share short clips on a certain topic. This is a great way to get inspired for the day. Enjoy this quick burst of motivation, hey guys. So today I want to talk to you about overcoming struggles or overcoming obstacles in your life, and I want to invite you to think about this in a different way and in a way that can empower you to keep pushing towards your goals and feeling just more confident. So when I think about an obstacle, I think about this big mountain that I get to, and I have to decide what I'm going to do. If I want to get to the other side of that mountain, what do I do? Do I see it as something that's going to stop me, something that's like a barrier, or am I thinking about okay, this is a mountain, there's a way to get through this mountain, because I need to get to that other side, and if you've ever gone hiking, you know that there's always someone who has gone over that mountain or gone through that mountain, because you'll see a trail. There's usually always a trail you can follow. There's always a way to get over to the other side, and I want you to think about the mountain being any obstacle in your life, anything that could be really big or something that's just kind of a minor inconvenience. And that's the way we kind of think about things nowadays is that it doesn't matter the size of the obstacle, we just know that it's an obstacle and we immediately say is it worth the work to get to the other side? And I want you to say yes, it is, because whatever's on the other side is something that you desire. Then yes, it's worth it. Now we know that when there are struggles, when we get through those struggles and we push through, getting to that other side is so much more enjoyable and so much more fulfilling, because we know we went through that hard thing and Mark has said this before is that when we go through something that is really hard, it makes us feel more accomplished, because not everybody will do that. So your confidence improves and you just feel like you can do anything right, especially if the obstacle is bigger. The bigger it is, the more confident you're going to feel when you get to that other side. So we try to get away from that. We try to not face our struggles or not face those obstacles, because it takes a lot of work. But if we actually do that, if we go through those hard things, if we push through, we just come out so much better and a better version of ourselves, a more confident version of ourselves on the other side. So instead of thinking, now there's this big mountain in front of me, I feel small or I feel insignificant and I feel like I can't get through that, think about it more as okay, this is the hard thing I need to get through, and I know that if I push through I'm going to feel so much better. So I'm about to kick butt right now. So we'll think about it that way. And even before you get started, you're going to have that boost of confidence. And if you already have a boost of confidence from the very beginning, you better believe you're going to get through that mountain so much better.
