Microcast - Taking Control of Your Life with Habit Tracking

Microcast - Taking Control of Your Life with Habit Tracking

#219 - What if the key to transformative self-improvement was as simple as keeping a journal? We're about to explore the crazy power of habit tracking, a tool that can expose our self-deceptions and pave the way to personal growth. We often believe we're acting more honorably than we truly are, a skewed perception that habit tracking can rectify. In this mini episode,  I touch on the parallels between tracking your habits and budgeting your finances, and how self-monitoring can reveal areas in need of change.

Ready to take the plunge into the world of habit tracking? I'm here to guide you on a journey of self-discovery, starting with noting down your daily habits. If you're looking to change or improve a specific aspect of your life, a journal or phone notes app can be your best friend. As we record our progress, we can become more intentional about making changes. Inspired by James Clear's Atomic Habits, this short episode is your wake-up call to take control of your habits and consequently, redesign your life. Let's embark on this journey together and discover the transformative power of habit tracking!

Feeling like you need a little motivation or a quick tip to get you going. Each week, and between full episodes, I will share short clips on a certain topic. This is a great way to get inspired for the day. Enjoy this quick burst of motivation. Habit tracking keeps you honest. Most of us have a distorted view of our own behavior. We think we act better than we do. Habit offers one way to overcome our blindness to our own behavior and notice what's really going on each day. That's actually a quote by James Clear from Atomic Habits. Now I think about this very similar to how we budget money. So if we wanted to make changes with our finances, if we wanted to save money or we wanted to see where our money goes, we would track it. We would track how much money is coming in and how we're spending it. So we need to do the same when it comes to other habits. So if you want to start a new healthy habit, if you want to start tracking the way that you feel each day and to pinpoint what's causing that feeling let's say you want to change a feeling of being unmotivated you want to be able to track it right, Because you can't change what you don't measure. So if there's a particular habit that you want to change or that you want to improve upon, start tracking it. You can write it down on a journal, you can have it in a notes app in your phone, but just start keeping track of it and as you go along and you start making other changes, you can find a way to become more intentional about doing the thing that you want to do.
