Hey, everyone, welcome back to the show. So today's a little bit of a shorter episode because I wanted to talk about goals and I've talked about goals before. I actually have a full episode on goal setting, but I wanted to give you some quick tips on how you can start thinking about your goals and maybe getting those set up before the end of the year so you can feel good when you start the new year. And these are really simple ways to think about your goals so that it doesn't feel overwhelming. Okay, so I'm going to jump right in and talk about tip number one. So set aside some time to write your goals and think about your goals, and I'm not saying set aside some time at the dinner table while everybody's in the kitchen making noise and everything. You want to set some time and it doesn't have to be a lot of time If you have a quiet place and you're comfortable and maybe you have some light music playing in the background, maybe with your headphones, and maybe you have some coffee or something and you kind of allow yourself the space and mental space to really kind of dream. And this is a great time to write your goals because I mean, you'll feel inspired, you'll feel calm and you'll probably be in a better head space to write your goals. And, like I said, it doesn't have to take a lot of time. Just focus on the space and kind of like the ambience of where you are. Sometimes people will go to like a coffee shop and for me personally, I think I like to do that when I'm working because kind of like the atmosphere and the environment kind of brings out some creativity in me. But I think for goal setting, because you want to kind of daydream and stuff and really think about what you want your year to look like, I think it's best to have kind of like a quiet space, if that's at all possible. If it's not, then yeah, you know, go to a coffee shop and, you know, put some headphones on and, you know, get writing. So my next tip is to set an annual goal or a semi annual goal, but only planned for the short term, so maybe three months in. And the reason for that is because we don't really know what's going to happen and setting like specific plans and details can feel overwhelming. So if you take just, you know, the quarter, so a quarterly goal that you would have, then you would plan that out in a little bit more detail rather than trying to plan it all out for six months or even a year long. That is way too much and, like I said, we don't know what's going to happen. So having just like a short term plan is a way to go. Now my third tip is, when you're setting up your goal, you want to focus on the habits that you're going to form. So I think this is where we get in trouble sometimes and we find ourselves not hitting our goals or just completely falling off because we're too focused on the finish line when we should be focusing on the small, consistent habits that will take us to that particular goal. So find what habits you need to form in order to get to that goal. What are kind of like the daily routines or the daily habits that you have to create in order to stay consistent and get to that end result? Okay, I have a bonus tip for you. So, once you have your goals and you wrote them all down and you have a plan, share it with someone, but not just anyone. Share it with someone who is going to keep you accountable, they're going to check in on you and they're also supportive, because I know sometimes we can share with certain people that don't really inspire us or bring us down. You definitely don't want to share your goals with people like that. Share it with someone who is really supportive and really can help you stay accountable to those specific goals. Maybe they're also working on goals and maybe similar goals to you. So that is the perfect environment to keep you consistent, keep you motivated and keep you moving towards your goals with intention. If you need some help on writing out your goals you don't even know where to start I'm going to share the link to the podcast episode that I did on goal setting and that also comes with templates that you can download which will help you out. They'll kind of prompt you to write down your specific goals, progress goals, the habits that you need to form to move towards those goals. I really hope these were helpful for you and I can't wait to see what you create, what you become in the upcoming year. I'll see you next week.
